Cat of the week

This lovely gray tabby is Parker!

She is spayed, vaccinated, tested and microchip ready to meet her true FURever! This cutie patootie is a vocal queen and loves to explore and play. She is estimated to be almost 4.5 years old.

This beauty came to the Hsyc as a stray and has been with us far too long – 871 days (almost 2.5 years) Her dream this fall is to find a person, couple, or family ( with mature kids only) where she can get a lot of attention and love. She is especially fond of belly rubs, and will beg to be loved on!

If Parker grabs at your heartstrings, call to make an appointment TODAY (803) 802-0902.

REMEMBER:

  1. All members of the family that live in the household must be at the appointment.
  2. Transition time for our FURfriends may vary. Give them the time they need to adjust. You won’t regret it.

Dog of the week

This handsome boy is Hippo!

He has the color and stockiness of his namesake animal, but the similarities end there. This stunning boy is all warmth & affection, no brute charging out of the river here!!! Hippo came to the HSYC as a stray and is estimated to be about 7 yrs old.

Hippo shows off his beauty inside and out…

When Hippo is in his kennel, he likes to play with a toy—and his tail will wag with happiness. He looks forward to his visit with volunteers when they come for his daily walk. After a rousing start, he calms down and trots along to a nice easy jog or brisk walk.

Squirrels…. Well, they are put on earth to taunt dogs, and Hippo will give them appropriate attention. But he is smart when it comes to ducks and geese as he shows very healthy respect…when the flock suddenly takes flight, so does Hippo headed in the opposite direction!

Hippo seems to react to other dogs as they react to him. If they are calm, he is calm. If they are yappy, he gets a little agitated but is easily redirected and sits nicely for a treat.

Hippo will be a great family addition. He is ISO that family, couple, or person willing to include him in their life activities. Then kick back and be a couch potato.

Call today to make an appointment to meet Hippo, (803) 802-0902!!!

REMEMBER:

  1. ALL members of the household will need to come to the appointment.
  2. Dog adoptions are within a radius of 30-45 minutes due to home visit requirements.
